4/23/18

On Friday, April 20th, Cambridge Junior Victoria Taylor was selected as the Grand Prize Winner of the 30th District of Texas Congressional Art Competition. Her piece will hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol Building for an entire year, with other winning pieces from around the country. The art is enjoyed daily by Members of Congress and their staff. Victoria competed against high school students from 18 other schools and her piece was selected by a panel of 5 local judges. Victoria was given the award by Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson of the 30th Congressional District of Texas.

From Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson’s website:
“Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district.”

Congratulations, Victoria!
