At the beginning of high school, Cambridge students look forward to our junior and senior years where we will get to participate in planning Coffee Haus, Senior Tutorials, Ladies Tea and so many other once-in-a-lifetime occasions. As a freshman, one of the special events that I most looked forward to was Prom.

My friends and I have been eagerly anticipating prom all year, and it didn’t really hit us that we were actually attending until we were getting ready for the night. Prom night was one of the best experiences of my life, truly a night to remember. The night began with pictures at Park Cities Club (since I am so used to seeing everyone in their school uniform– it was great seeing each person dressed up and looking their best). Everyone then made their way upstairs for a delicious meal of pasta and chicken. I also really enjoyed the Root Beer Floats that were served throughout the whole dance. After dinner, we all made our way to the dance floor and danced the night away. Dancing was definitely one of the best part of the nights for a lot of students, especially Junior Allison Brueggeman whose favorite moment of the night was “getting down to the sick beats.” The night ended with the crowning of Prom King and Queen, Seniors Curran Lee and Rose Pikman. Curran Lee said, “I was very shocked when I heard my name called. I am very honored to be the Prom King of 2019.”

Prom was a great night and I would relive it over and over. It’s something everyone should experience it their highschool career. My first prom was a magical experience that fulfilled all of my expectations; I can’t wait to do it again next year as a senior!
